I had the privilege of being asked to be part of the pilot episode of a new TV show for BBC Northern Ireland called “Happening Here”. It’s a sort of modern arts show, with 3 great presenters going around Northern Ireland checking out what different things there is to do and what opportunities are out there if you just look. I think it’s a super concept and fingers crossed the first show will be well received and that many more will follow.
My part in the show was to do a boudoir photo-shoot with the lovely presenter Jessica. We planned the shoot to be vintage inspired and to really elude the subtle sensuality of that era.
I was so lucky to get the chance to work with the lovely Clare Afshar who owns “Vintage Rocks Hair Parlour” www.vintagerockshairparlour.com. Clare did some amazing victory rolls and hot roller curls in Jessica’s hair, it was stunning. We then painted Jessica’s face with rouge, red lips and smoky flicked eyeliner, she looked like a doll! Then it was off to “The Merchant” to get her all dressed up in a beautiful corset kindly borrowed from “Roxbury and McQueen” www.roxburyandmcqueen.com with stockings and suspenders. She looked beyond amazing and was a delight to photograph, a true professional.
After a hard but very enjoyable days filming, make-up, hair and photography, the result of everyones hard work can be seen below. Big thanks to everyone who made it possible!!!
P.S I also got a lovely 1940′s dress to wear for the show from Atelier in Queens Arcade Belfast www.atelierbelfast.com, the assistant was so helpful and I felt amazing in it! So thanks to them for making me feel special.
